Welcome to Finchoq ("we", "our", or "us"). Finchoq is a 1:1 mentorship platform connecting mentees with verified industry experts for professional guidance, portfolio reviews, and career development. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us.
2. Information We Collect
When you register and use Finchoq, we collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Full name, email address, profile picture, role (Mentor or Mentee), and authentication credentials.
- Mentor Profile Data: Professional title, biography, employer, expertise categories, education background, social links, and published weekly availability slots.
- Mentee Data: Optional bio, career goals, topics of interest, and session booking history.
- Session & Communication Data: Scheduled mentorship session times, booking notes, status (confirmed/cancelled/completed), and feedback/reviews.
3. Google OAuth & Google Calendar API Integration
Finchoq offers Google OAuth integration to streamline mentor availability management and session scheduling. When you connect your Google Account, we access specified Google API scopes strictly for the following purposes:
- Reading Free/Busy Status (
calendar.freebusy): Finchoq reads your Google Calendar busy blocks to automatically prevent scheduling conflicts on your published mentorship availability calendar. Finchoq does not read the titles, descriptions, or attendees of your private calendar events. - Creating Mentorship Events (
calendar.events): When a mentee books a session with a mentor, Finchoq creates a calendar event on the mentor's connected Google Calendar, adds both parties as attendees, and automatically attaches a Google Meet video call link for the mentorship session. - Authentication & Refresh Tokens: We securely store an encrypted OAuth refresh token to execute these scheduling operations on your behalf.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance (Limited Use)
Finchoq's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements.
- We do NOT sell, rent, or share Google user data to third parties under any circumstances.
- We do NOT use Google user data for advertising, marketing, or commercial profiling.
- We do NOT use Google user data to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models.
- Human staff do NOT read your Google user data unless required for security investigations, bug resolution, or with your explicit consent.
5. Data Protection & Retention
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures (including TLS encryption in transit and AES encryption at rest) to safeguard your personal data and OAuth tokens. Your data is retained only for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide mentorship services.
6. Disconnecting Google & Deleting Account
You retain full control over your connected accounts and data:
- You can disconnect your Google Calendar integration at any time through your Account Settings page. Disconnecting immediately removes stored OAuth tokens.
- You can request complete deletion of your account and associated personal data by submitting a request via our Support Page.
